Paxton jug

Paxton jug

A large and unusual Paxton jug in brown Jasperware, produced sometime in the 1860s or 1870s. It is decorated with 4 cherubs and a tree, and has a "rope" handle. Whilst the jasperware on the outside is conventionally matt, the inside of the jug is fully glazed to make it functional. It stands 19cm high, and has a value of approx. $75.
